How to get there
Come From Away is based on the remarkable true story of the small community of Gander, Newfoundland, that welcomed the world.
On September 11, 2001, when U.S. airspace closed, 38 planes carrying thousands of passengers from around the globe were diverted to Gander. What began as an ordinary day quickly became an international sleepover as the people of Newfoundland opened their homes and hearts to complete strangers. Despite culture clashes, language barriers, fear, and uncertainty, unexpected friendships formed through music, laughter, generosity, and the recognition that even in the darkest moments, there is far more that brings us together than divides us.
This production is presented as an America 250 Utah community event and in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. Through this remarkable true story, we honor those whose lives were forever changed by 9/11 and celebrate the compassion, courage, and community that emerged in its aftermath.
